2012 Philip's Frolic Shiraz - SOLD OUT
Thanks to Michael Trevisol, our viticulturist, we harvested our 2012 Shiraz on 10 April at good baume (sugar level) in the wettest year on record. When delivered to the winery, baume was too low andacid too high. Consigned to be blended away, we were amazed when our winemaker tasted it to find good structure, a long palate and plenty of wonderful pepper-spice our shiraz is known for. Another superb vintage produced in classic Shiraz style and oaked in French barrels for ten months, I call our 2012 Shiraz "Honors Harvest" after my daughter who worked tirelessly in the harvest.
Medium bodied - Dark berry, savoury with pepper and herbal aromas Elegant and fragrant freshness with good concentration
"Raspberry and vanilla coke with subtle herbal edges on the nose. The medium bodied palate is red fruit, medium long and sustained by the vanilla caramel oak on the finish." – Robert Geddes M.W.
